මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජාතික ජල සම්පාදන හා ජලාපවහන මණ්ඩලයේ සාමාන්‍යධිකාරී ඉංජිනේරු තිළිණ එස්. විජේතුංග මහතා නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කරමින් දන්වා සිටින්නේ,
මෙම අවස්ථාවේ පානීය ජල සැපයුම සීමාසහිත වන බැවින් එය සියලු දෙනාටම සමසේ බෙදා හැරිය යුතු හෙයින් වාහන සේදීම, ගෙවතු වගාව සහ බෝග වගාවන් ඇතුලු අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය නොවන කටයුතු වලට මෙම පිරිපහදු කරන ලද පානීය ජලය භාවිතා නොකරන ලෙසයි. බීමට සහ ඉවුම් පිවුම් කටයුතු වලට පමනක් භාවිතා කරන මෙන් මෙම නිවේදනය මඟින් කාරුණික ඉල්ලීමක් කර ඇත.
මෙම තත්වය මත පාරිභෝගික ජනතාවගේ පානීය ජල අවශ්‍යතාවයන් සපූරාලීමේදී උස් බිම් ප්‍රදේශවලට සහ සමහර ප්‍රදේශයන්හි ජල පාරිභෝගියන් වෙත ජලය බෙදාහැරිමෙදී අඩු පීඩන තත්වයන් උද්ගතවිය හැකිය.
කෙසේ වුවත් මෙම වියලි අයහපත් කාළගුණික තත්වය නිසා ජනතාවට මුහුන දීමට සිදුවී තිබෙන දුෂ්කර තාවය පිළිබඳව ජාතික ජල සම්පාදන හා ජලාපවහන මණ්ඩලය කණකාටුව ප්‍රකාශ කර සිටින අතර මෙම අවස්ථාවේ පානීය ජලය හැකිතාක් දුරට අරපිරිමැස්මෙන් භාවිතා කරන ලෙස ද පාරිභෝගික ජනතාවගෙන් ඉතාමත් කාරුණිකව ඉල්ලා සිටිමි.
