2019 ජනාධිපතිතුමා බලයට පත් වුණාට පස්සේ අපිට මේ ගෝලීය කොවිඩ් වසංගතයට මුහුණ දෙන්න සිදු වුණා. මේ වසංගතය හේතුවෙන් අපේ ආර්ථිකය කඩන් වැටුණා. යහපාලන ආණ්ඩුව දේශිය ආර්ථිකය කඩා දැමිමත් අප අද මේ මුහුණ දෙන ආර්ථික අර්බුදයට හේතුවක්. නමුත් රජය දැඩි කැපවීමකින් කොවිඩ් වසංගතය පාලනය කිරිමට කටයුතු කළා. සෞඛ්‍ය හා ආරක්ෂක අංශ ඒ සදහා කළ කැපකිරිම අද විපක්ෂය අවතක්සේරු කරනවා ඒ නිසයි ඔවුන් ජනතාව පාරට බස්සලා කොවිඩ් බෝ කරලා කොවිඩ් මරණ සංඛ්‍යාව වැඩි කරලා ආපහු රට වස්සවන්න හදන්නේ. කොවිඩ් වැඩිවෙලා මරණ වැඩිවෙනකොට විපක්ෂය ඒකෙන් කුරිරු සතුටක් ලබනවා. කොවිඩ් පොකුරු වැඩි කරලා, මරණ වැඩි කරලා රට වැහුවාමයි සජිත් අනුර ඩබලට නින්ද යන්නේ. ”
