ගංගා, ඇළ දොළ සහ ජල පෝෂක ප‍්‍රදේශ පිරිසිදු කොට සංරක්ෂණයට විශේෂ අවධානය යොමු කරමින් වැඩසටහන කඩිනම් කිරීමේ අවශ්‍යතාව ජනාධිපතිවරයා එහිදී පෙන්වා දී තිබෙනවා.
ඉදිරි වසර 04 තුළ පවුල් ලක්ෂ 47 කට ජලය සැපයීම රජයේ අපේක්ෂාවයි. දේශීය සහ විදේශීය අරමුදලින් ව්‍යාපෘතිය ක‍්‍රියාත්මක කෙරෙන අතර ඒ සඳහා ජල නළ කිලෝ මීටර් 40,000ක් අලූතින් එළීමට සිදු වන බවයි ජනාධිපති මාධ්‍ය අංශය සඳහන් කළේ.
මේ දක්වා ජල සම්පාදනයට වැය වූ පිරිවැයෙන් හරි අඩකින් ව්‍යාපෘතිය අවසන් කිරීමට අපේක්ෂා කෙරෙනවා.
එම සාකච්ඡාවට එක්වූ නිලධාරීන් ජනාධිපතිවරයා හමුවේ කියා සිටියේ ජලය ආරක්ෂා කිරිමේ පියවරක් ලෙස ජලය කාන්දුවන ස්ථාන හඳුනාගෙන අලූතින් ජල නළ එළීම මේ වනවිට සිදු කරමින් පවතින බවයි. ප‍්‍රජා ජල ව්‍යාපෘති සේවක ගැටළු විසඳීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් ද එහිදී ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතාගේ අවධානය යොමුවී තිබෙනවා.
ජල නළ එළිමේදී මාර්ගවලට වන හානිය සහ එමගින් ජාතික ධනය විනාශවීම වැළැක්වීමට මාර්ග සංවර්ධන අධිකාරිය සහ ජල සම්පාදන මණ්ඩලය ඒකාබද්ධව සංවර්ධන සැලසුම් ක‍්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමටයි එහිදී එකඟතාව පළ කර ඇත්තේ. රටේ පානීය ජල අවශ්‍යතාව සපුරලීමට යන සමස්ත වියදමෙන් සියයට 30 ක් පමණ එමගින් ඉතිරි කර ගත හැකි බව අනාවරණය වී තිබෙනවා.
